SLASH Update: Does This Man Ever Rest?!
Former GUNS N' ROSES axeman Slash will be
attending the AEROSMITH/CHEAP TRICK concert at the Sports Arena in San Diego,
California this Thursday, January 17th, and a possibility exists that he will be
joining the openers TRICK onstage for a quick jam. In other news, plans exist
for Slash to embark on a Japanese tour with ROLLING STONES guitarist Ronnie Wood
in March. Exact dates and venues will be announced shortly. Also on the Slash
front, the guitarist has been asked by the Los Angeles Lakers to play "The Star
Spangled Banner" at this Wednesday's game (January 16th) versus the Miami Heat
at Staples Center in L.A. Lastly, Slash has started work on his upcoming solo
record, and has indicated that he will have different musicians performing on
different tracks. Although some of the cuts will feature the hard rock style
that most people associate the guitarist with, other genres will be prevalent on
the CD as well, including the blues. No title or tentative release date for the
effort has yet been announced.
